// features

Everything you check each day, and the answers you used to dig for.

Chronologue covers time tracking, activity and screenshots, then adds AI narratives and questions you can verify. Compare it with Time Doctor or Hubstaff.

// what it records

Capture

The desktop app records work while a person is signed in to your workspace, and shows in the menu bar while it runs.

Apps and sites
The app in front, its window title, and for browsers the page address, minute by minute.
Activity level
How many keyboard and mouse events happen each minute. Never which keys are pressed or what is typed.
Idle and lock time
When the computer is idle, asleep or locked, shown as such rather than as work.
Screenshots, if you turn them on
Every 1 to 30 minutes at a random moment. Blur is applied on the computer before upload, and nothing is taken while idle or locked.

// what it writes

AI that shows its working

Every AI answer and rating points back to the activity behind it.

Daily narratives
A written account of each person’s and team’s day, built from apps, titles, sites, meetings and commits.
Ask about anyone’s day
Questions in plain language, with each claim in the answer linked to its evidence.
Explainable categorisation
Apps and sites are rated automatically with the reason shown. Owners and admins correct a rating for a person, a team or the whole workspace.
Insights
Work-life balance signals and estimated software spend from the paid tools your team actually uses.

Why: window titles match the Design team’s checkout project.

// questions

Automatic time tracking: common questions

Does Chronologue need a timer to track work?

No. The desktop app records work while you are signed in to your workspace, so you do not need to start and stop a timer.

Does Chronologue record what I type?

No. It records the number of keyboard and mouse events each minute, not the keys you press, what you type or what you copy.

Are screenshots required for time tracking?

No. Screenshots are optional and only taken if your workspace turns them on. They are not taken while your computer is idle or locked.

Can people check their own activity data?

Yes. Each person can see their own timeline, narrative and screenshots in the web app.
